HARTZ Treats Recall!

By January 26, 2013

Follow me on:

Hartz has announced a voluntary recall of United States-distributed treats. The company has discovered trace amounts of antibiotic residue in its Chicken Chews and Hartz Oinkies Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken for dogs. This recall affects:

  • All Hartz® Chicken Chews™ Soft and Tenders
  • All Hartz® Chicken Chews™ Soft and Tender Bite Sized
  • All Hartz® Oinkies® Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken

If you have these products contact Hartz Consumer Affairs at 800-275-1414.

While salmonella contamination has been implicated in many previous pet food recalls, lately more and more antibiotic contamination has been found that potentially can make pets sick. If your puppy has eaten one of the recalled treats, consult your veterinarian. Thank you for the tip from Dog Food Advisor.
