tapewormWorms are a fact of life for puppy owners, and in fact with very few exceptions, your puppy is BORN with roundworms. Sometimes the baby dog will be born with hookworms, too, or shortly after birth contract them simply by nursing from the momma dog.

Tapeworms--that's the picture, pretty scary, eh?--can be contracted a couple of different ways but the most common method is from fleas. Yep, that's one more thing to blame on those buggy blood-suckers.

This month I'm writing a whole series of articles on common puppy parasites, and how to recognize them, get rid of them, and prevent them and keep your puppy safe. Learn more about roundworms here, and check out the information about tapeworms in this article, and finally the hookworm tips can be found here.
