Did you know that April 15 is the beginning of National Pet Identification Week? Do you have proper identification on your precious puppy? How would you find her if someone accidentally left the gate open and she chased a squirrel out of the yard? Identification is a precaution we take to make sure a lost dog is more easily recovered.
Proper identification also ensures that if your lost dog gets picked up by the shelter, people know that she's owned and not a stray. In some cases that can mean extra effort (and time!) will be spent to reunite you, rather than offering her for adoption--or losing her life. There are a number of ways to identify pets, from fancy visible collar tags, ear or thigh tattoos and high tech microchips. Learn more about the various ways you can keep your puppy safe with proper identification in this article.
